To combat the ticking noise characteristic of direct-injection systems, Cadillac engineers packed on added sound-proofing material in strategic places, which helps to keep the cabin quiet. It's also 20 pounds lighter, thanks to several weight-saving innovations including a plastic intake manifold, lighter connecting rods and exhaust manifolds which are integrated into the heads. The 3.6-liter engine, based on the one found in the Cadillac CTS, cranks out 308 horsepower (16 percent more than the old version) and 265 pound-feet of torque. We found the new 3.6-liter V6 smooth, quiet, and responsive. New for 2012, the 3.6-liter V6 is the only engine available and replaces the 2011 model's 3.0-liter and 2.8-liter engines. With a new 3.6-liter V6 direct injected engine and weight-saving modifications, the 2012 Cadillac SRX is more capable than ever. They have repeated this process several times and say that the two problem cylinders now have some compression but not like they should. They have been trying to clean the carbon deposits by applying a cleaning solution to the deposits and letting it soak, usually overnight, and then brushing or scraping the deposits. The car has now been in their shop for 4 days. They said they would try to remove the carbon they could see by a cleaning process and then would connect a machine that would circulate a cleaning solution through the engine. I was told that some sensors may be bad but that they would have to do some investigation like a compression test etc. I was able to restart the engine and pulled into a repair shop about 50 feet away with which I had done business before. I had to stop for a red light and the engine stalled. The DIC showed a "Service Stabilitrak" message and the symbols for the engine and traction control.
